October 1st Night of Foolishness Fund Raiser

Here is your chance to support our cause and have a blast! On Saturday, October 1st the Longview A R C Society is hosting our big fund raiser for the Centennial Park upgrade with a safe modern playground, Fitness equipment for all ages and new benches, picnic tables and litter receptacles. We are hosting the fund raiser in conjunction with Alberta Arts Days. The evening will feature a scrumptious, country cooked roast beef dinner, a silent auction and entertainment from local area artists all for $20 with all profits going to the Playground/Fitness Park build. Please dust off those cheque books and come on out to help support a great cause, eat a fine meal, maybe purchase a great silent auction item and honour our local artists in their many forms. Doors open at 6 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM There will be a cash bar available.

Project Details

Build Day - October 15
Longview A R C Society, Longview Recreation Board, Longview Serenity Park Committee, Little New York Daze Festival Committee and Longview Council have banded together to revitalize the Village of Longview. Our proposed "Xtreme Makeover" includes new playground equipment, outdoor exercise equipment in a circuit and new benches and garbage cans for Centennial Park,
Cementing in of our outdoor rink with outlets for Basketball hoops and tennis nets which will make the rink a multiseason use area. We hope to purchase moveable skateboard equipment to be used at the rink.
Main street beautification will include a Veterans Memorial and Serenity Garden at the Village office and has already had the purchase of Christmas lighting for the poles and self watering flower boxes.
We will have a massive build day on Saturday October 15th, 2011, where the equipment will be installed under professional guidence. This is where you come in folks!! We will need as many hands available as possible. Many towns our size have been able to muster up 200 plus volunteers for their build day from their town and surrounding MD. Knowing your big hearts and willingness to help, I believe we will have that many and more!!
